Ask any of our cashiers which job they like best during a sale? They'll answer, “being a cashier of course!”

But it’s no easy job. And we work all over the city, so the work location is different every week!

If you shop our sales and watch us carefully, you'll see how we keep and stay organized, work efficiently, and follow consistent procedures --all to keep our checkout lines short and our customers happy!

Cashiers typically work sale hours (10am-4pm or 11am-3pm) on Saturdays and Sundays, and typically arrive one half hour early on opening day of the sale to become familiar with the new store and the new merchandise, and “count their drawer.” After we close for the day, cashiers are responsible for closing out their register, recording transaction details, reconciling cash/check/merchant card sales, and balancing the drawer which adds another half hour or so of work.

This position requires high energy, confidence, great people skills, customer service work history, strong attention to detail and organization in our fast-paced selling environment. Must have reliable transportation and basic math skills, be a fast learner, able to lift 30 pounds, stay on your feet for nearly the entire shift, and have reputation for being a reliable and cooperative team player.

It's called setting the house. If you've shopped our sales and admire how clean and well-organized they are, we assure you, they don't come that way! We do not play the ball where it lies.

Now merchandising is a labor of love. The most glamorous of all the positions we offer and the people who do it wouldn't trade their jobs for anything!

It's the digging and the hauling. The sorting and the tossing. The washing and the drying.

This is a very self-managed position for the right people. The Project Manager expects experienced merchandisers to work efficiently and effectively managing the balance between task and time. Every project is different, but every project has one thing in common: the sale is going to open on time ready or not, and we're always ready no matter what it takes to maintain consistent high quality standards of merchandising and presentation.

If its dirty, we clean it.
If you wear it, we hang it.
If its valuable, we move it to the front.
If its trash, you get a second opinion!

If you're someone who just loves old things and sorting through history, this job may or may not be for you. There's simply no time to get romantic with everything you pick up. We handle thousands of pieces a week so there isn't time to handle something more than once. If you can manage your collectors interest within the scope of your responsibility, you can pick it up, appreciate it, process it, price it* and place it.

There simply isnt anything more rewarding than the amazing transformations that take place from a [house full of stuff] to a [store full of merchandise] not to mention how impressed our Clients are with our overwhelming achievements.

*pricing ability based on personal level of training, knowledge, experience, and core study.

Related experience varies for consideration in this position. In-house catering is a great background from the perspective of blending routine with customized service as well as managing the balance between using the space available to suit the job and providing room for efficient, effective and safe customer traffic. Our cashiers actually become well-prepared to be merchandisers because they come to the job with great experience about what people buy, and how much they pay for it. Reliable transportation and attendance, strong work ethic, ability to lift 30 pounds, and background check are required.
