Ask any of our cashiers which job they like best during a sale? They'll answer, “being a cashier of course!”
But it’s no easy job. And we work all over the city, so the work location is different every week!
If you shop our sales and watch us carefully, you'll see how we keep and stay organized, work efficiently, and follow consistent procedures --all to keep our checkout lines short and our customers happy!
Cashiers typically work sale hours (10am-4pm or 11am-3pm) on Saturdays and Sundays, and typically arrive one half hour early on opening day of the sale to become familiar with the new store and the new merchandise, and “count their drawer.” After we close for the day, cashiers are responsible for closing out their register, recording transaction details, reconciling cash/check/merchant card sales, and balancing the drawer which adds another half hour or so of work.
This position requires high energy, confidence, great people skills, customer service work history, strong attention to detail and organization in our fast-paced selling environment. Must have reliable transportation and basic math skills, be a fast learner, able to lift 30 pounds, stay on your feet for nearly the entire shift, and have reputation for being a reliable and cooperative team player.
